About Me

Hello all, I am a 40 something female living in the Tampa Florida area. I am now laid off, for the second time in 2 years, from 2 different not-for-profits. I know I am not the only one in this position, so that makes me feel somehow better. Maybe a little bit better. At least I am not alone. The county that I live in, Pasco county at around 11.3% and the next neighboring county, Hernando at around 12.4% have the highest unemployment rate in Florida. Not just high unemployment, like in the rest of the US, but the highest in the entire State of Florida. Jeeez!! Ain't life grand? Lots of people competing for the same jobs. You have to drive to Tampa to find work, which is a 45 to 60 minute drive, on a good day, 90 minutes on a bad day. Tell me again why I bought a house here in Pasco county?

Hello all,
I am laid off for the second time in two years. I am trying to make the best of a bad situation. Thank god for unemployment. I almost feel quilty drawing it but I am very thankful that I have it.

Where to begin,
Let me tell you about this cool web site I found. It will help you keep track of your job search, send reminders, notes to yourself about which companies you want to research, resumes, etc.

I am looking forward to utilizing this in my job search to keep myself organized. Even though I have all the time in the world right now, remember I'm not working, I still need help with my job search organization.

What I like about being Laid Off-

Sleeping in late-every day!!!
Not having to put on mascara
Wearing my hair in a ponytail every day-no curling iron burns on my neck.
Not having to worry if my outfit matches.
Not wearing heels-in fact I live in Florida and have been wearing my go-with-everything basic black flip flops every day.

Now that's so lewd.
